The Red Deer Titans will be running an off season Rugby Academy this year to help Junior rugby players develop and expand their skills and knowledge.
The Academy will run from October to December and January to March. Sessions are tentatively planned to run every 2nd Sunday, with extra sessions booked throughout the week, scheduled as they arise.
The Sunday sessions will be in a school gym and will be a mix of fitness, ball handling and other rugby skills. The extra sessions will be booked as the needs of the academy are determined by the registrants. The extra sessions will include:
- Weight training
- Fitness
- Nutrition
- Laws of the game
- Video analysis
These are just a few of the events planned!
The cost for the Academy is $300.00 for the six months and can be broken down into two payments of $150.00. Credits earned working Westerner Events may be used to help with this cost.
We are examining a rural academy in either Rocky or Rimbey, if the interest and numbers are there.
