AJRA Minis Tourney Summary (from June 20 in Red Deer)

The Alberta Junior Rugby Association (AJRA) Provincial Minis Tournament was held at Titans Park this past weekend and was another huge success with for the program with bouncy castles, pasta, thunder storms and yes a ton of rugby being played.  With eight clubs, nineteen teams and over two hundred players participating in U7, U9, and U11 age grades the fields were jam packed with the future of Alberta Rugby.  As the positive feedback continues to pour in the credit for the event goes to the amazing group of volunteers, refs and coaches who made this day possible for the kids.  The Tournament offers the opportunity for players to compete with clubs around the province and gives clubs the opportunity to evaluate the progress of their own minis programs.  The host club will have to be pleased with the result after their minis program swept the tournament despite excellent competition from the participating clubs.  It was a great day for the club, a great day for AJRA minis and a great day for rugby in general.  The future looks bright for Alberta rugby!
